PENCILS & learning curve (Comic #336)

Sometimes I sharpen so many pencils in a row that I get quite nasty blisters!

Turns out that pencils are much harder to make look clean than inks. It's tricky to keep all the textures and it really made me wish I had a light box. I think that would have made this a lot easier. I'd like to revisit this drawing a few times and see how much I can improve it, but here is the version for today, you can see part of my learning curve and hopefully next time you see this drawing it will be much much better.

Today's comic is not as pretty as I would like it to be. I'm exploreing different ways of combining digital and physical processes and I have a lot to learn.

Mayara (a tamarin) sits on the ground.

Mayara: Oooh! I'm going to do the funnest thing!

Mayara reaches up into the air.

Mayara: Just because I can.

Mayara grabs a pencil and is near a pencil sharpener. The pencil sharpener probably weighs more than she does and the pencil is much bigger than she is.

Mayara: I'm going to sharpen ALL the pencils!
