In the dark! (Comic #448)

Fred and Winifred were characters in the first comic script I ever wrote! It's nice for them to get a chance to play. Being my first comic it was an ambitious 8 issue full color comic called Songs of Innocence. Sean Tay was going to draw it, and Maggie McFee developed the logo and lettering. It was lovely working with both of them. I wish I'd had the money to pay Sean what he was worth and paying gigs take precedence, which meant that a project like this had to take the back seat. Rule number one of collaborating with an artist... always support them getting the good paying gigs (especially ongoing sustainable ones). It's weird to think I wrote this script 16 years ago! Sometimes I dream of brushing it off. It still makes me happy looking at the sketched :-)
