Character: The Things

The Things don’t have arms, legs or a gender. Physically, they are nigh invulnerable and emotionally vulnerable, sensitive and kind. Sometimes they eat spoons!

  • Kelley's Comic Transcript The Things are hanging out together. Thing 1 observes a round, slightly wobbly shape coming over the back of Thing 2's head. The shape soars over Thing 1's head. Thing 1 and Thing 2 look at the shape with big wide eyes. The shape has started to move over Thing 1's head. Both the Things watch the round shape so intensely that they get tangled up in each other. But even all tangled up one of the things keeps watching the shape while the other looks out at us.

  • Wink Comic Transcript Thing 1 is squeezing their eyelids partially shut on one side, it makes them look a little cranky. Thing 2 looks a little concerned. Thing 1 is contorting both their eyelids and looking up, neither eye is fully closed, but their lower lids are squeezing upwards quite a bit. Thing 1 is looking down, one eye is more closed than the other, but neither eye is fully closed.
Thing 2: Are you ok? Thing 1 is squeezing booth eyes into tiny triangular slits, neither eye is fully closed, though one eye is more closed than the other.
Thing 1: I'm winking!
 Thing 2: Phew!
