October is ADHD Awareness Month. Dopamine plays a big role in ADHD.
The dopamine cup metaphor comes from Dr Jesse McClelland.
Transcript:
Bunson: This teacup represents the dopamine needs and capacity of our brains!
Not enough dopamine and your brain is sad 🙁
It’s like wanting a nice hot cup of tea and limping along on lukewarm dregs all the time.
Desperately trying to figure out where to get more tea.
Or feeling sad about being so bad at tea,
Pour in too much tea and it spills over.
You might burn your hands or make a mess.
If too much tea comes from medication, we call this phenomenon side effects!
Thanks to all my patrons and a special big extra thanks to Kate Webb, Erik Owomoyela and Sandra M. Odell
