Would you like to help the Things be more awesome and accessible?

Thing in a straw hat in the style of Vincent Van Gogh's self portraitsOne of the things that haunts the creator of the Things is that she hasn’t added transcripts (with or without stage directions) to many of the Things comics. She has done it erratically, but not as much as she would like. She’s even had help from the fab Sandra Odell, who typed up many transcripts, but going from huge text document to the correct comic gets overwhelming.  She’s going to try to do more transcripts, but here is a way you can help with the backlog!

It gets lonely when you do all the stuff yourself, colleagues and comrades are kinda the best! So if you’d like to help the Things be read and enjoyed by more people (especially if you have a favorite comic) please add a transcript to the comments section. I can then add it to the comic proper and get a thank you from me :-).

The Thing on the right hand side as Vincent Van Gogh

Thank you!

It may sound like a small task, but when you have to do that small task over and over it adds up.

So if you’d like to help us be more awesome, or just hang out with us some more, transcripts in the comments section would be super rad!

If you would like more Things in your diet please head over to Uncanny Magazine and check out Things React to Star Trek where we look at love as a tool we use to shape ourselves, and shape our communities.

Thanks to Mary Anne Mohanraj and Una McCormack for being the muses on this one (go read their essays), and thanks as always to Uncanny Magazine and all the Uncanny backers for creating this space for the Things to come, play and be inspired by the great fiction, non-fiction, poetry and interviews.

The “A Sad ” section of the Redbubble store has been updated and we’re looking at what other thingies we should put up there. Please let us know what you would like to see.

We’re also going to experiment with printing extra stuff ourselves. The first step in this experiment will be MAGNETS! I will have them with me at the participants signing at SFWA’s Nebula Awards Conference. They will be $2 each and we curious to see how they go.

I have ordered these magnets, they should arrive in about a week!
